Esquel Group advances the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We are inspiring the world! In recognition of our sustainability achievements, Esquel is the only textile and apparel manufacturer featured in the "17 Goals to Change our World" film series, a collaboration between the United Nations and Reuters. Sharing our sustainability story, we exemplify the behaviors that will bring about change and empower others to do the same.

To see how we are taking action to transform our industry and protect our world, watch our film Transforming Lives in the Textile and Apparel Industry - Esquel Group Advances the SDGs. Attached is the editorial that complements the film.

Our vision, Making a Difference, aspires to narrow the wealth gap and tackle climate change issues. It aligns with UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13 - Climate Action. By reducing our environmental impact, investing in our people, innovating our products, and contributing to local communities, we create a resilient and inclusive business for future generations.

Addressing the world’s biggest sustainability issues requires collective effort. The Global Goals will only be met if we work together. Let’s join the movement and make a positive change in the world.

ABOUT OUR FILM

The textile and apparel industry faces many challenges: fragile ecosystems, wastage in the supply chain, poor working conditions, and rising labor costs. Against this backdrop, We are Making a Difference from cottonseed research to the production and retailing of their shirts, improving the livelihoods of 55,000 employees, their families, and their communities. Esquel has experienced first-hand the effects of global warming and social unrest. This video showcases our youngest garment manufacturing site in Vietnam (EHV), where workers fought courageously to protect their second home at Esquel.
