Q.
How many management trainees does Esquel recruit each year?
A.

Our recruitment process focuses on personal ability and merits, which means there is no target in recruitment for the program. Each intake varies depending on the quality of competition among applicants and our business needs.

Q.
Am I expected to have prior experience in the apparel manufacturing industry?
A.

Prior experience in the industry is not required. However, we expect management trainee applicants to be genuinely interested in the apparel manufacturing industry as well as the wide range of other related corporate functions. Although not expected, applicants should also have basic knowledge of the industry prior to application as part of their commitment.

Q.
Does the subject of my degree affect my chance of becoming a management trainee?
A.

Esquel welcome students from any discipline, as our management trainees are expected to take on a wide range of cross-functional responsibilities. The Management Trainee Program not only seeks applicants who subscribe to our company vision, but those who also have a strong analytical mindset, learning agility and leadership potential.

Q.
I am studying overseas at the moment. Can I apply for the Management Trainee Program?
A.

We welcome both local and overseas students to apply for our Management Trainee Program.

Q.
If I am not a local resident, can I still apply for the Management Trainee Program?
A.

Yes. Esquel welcome applicants from any background. If you do not have the right of abode or right to land in the specific location, you must obtain the appropriate visa before arrival to take up employment.

Q.
How do I prepare for the team challenge, assessment center and interviews for the Management Trainee application process?
A.

There are no official guidelines to prepare for these application steps. These are designed to test your all-round ability reflecting your general aptitude and perceptiveness. With that said, we advise applicants to keep on top of local and global current affairs to enrich themselves on a daily basis, and build on your knowledge and analytical skills.

Q.
Can I choose which department I will rotate to?
A.

We will devise custom rotation plans that take into account colleagues’ skills, interests, and the current needs/available projects of different departments.
